Hungarian driver László Tóth signed to Charouz Racing System for the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship. The 21 years old driver is preparing for his second season in the series.
László Tóth’s name became well known for the Hungarian motorsport community with his participation at the 2019 FIA Motorsport Games, when in Vallelunga he achieved the best results of the Hungarian delegation in the Formula 4 Cup with a 4th and 7th position.
Tóth started his career with karting, then he changed to Formula 4 and drove in a variety of series including the Italian, Spanish and German championships. In 2020 he was racing in the Formula Renault Eurocup and then switched to F3, having his debut year in 2021 in the FIA F3 season.
„I’m very happy to started working together with this team. Last week I was already in Prague, met the team members and started preparations with the sim. The circumstances are very good and there is a high potential in the team so I hope that we will have a successful season” – commented Tóth.
“We’re very happy to welcome László to Charouz Racing System, he’s a young and promising driver who’s already covered a notable mileage at the wheel of Formula 4 and Formula 3 cars in the past few years and I’m confident that his experience will be helpful for all of us all along next season. I’m sure it will be no problem for him to find the best way to work together with the team and get up to speed straight away from the first test sessions”– said Antonín Charouz, the owner of the team.
The first of the 9 rounds scheduled for the 2022 Formula 3 season will take place, for the first time in the championship’s history, in Bahrain on March 18-20. Like the FIA Formula 2 championship, Formula 3 will also return to the old weekend format, featuring Free Practice and Qualifying sessions on Friday, a Sprint Race on Saturday and a Feature Race on Sunday. The field of the F3 championship will visit Hungary on the last weekend of July when László Tóth can race in front of his home crowd.
