After what I experienced during the last race weekend I think we did a step forward and we were more competitive in terms of the lap times but luck wasn’t on my side this time. We planned with dry circumstances during the test sessions on Thursday but in the afternoon the rain came and it was difficult to drive the car around in that weather.
On Friday we kept improving during the free practice runs but then in the afternoon on the first qualifying session I didn’t manage the put the laps together in a good way so I think I could have done a better job.
On Saturday we did the second qualifying session with a big battle on track and everybody improving their lap times from minute to minute. There was only four tenths of a second between P10 and P15 so it was a tight battle.
In the first race on Saturday I had a good start but then got pushed off track as fighting with the others. I started catching back up but it’s extremely hard to overtake on this circuit, so I didn’t had the chance to do that.
On Sunday in the second race my front wing has broken after a nice start, so then I had to deal with a strong understeer and lost half a second every lap. All I could’ve done was bringing the car home.
All in all I think we did a step forward this weekend and I think it was quite positive despite some of the thing that happened.
Next stop is Magny-Cours, France, this weekend, and I hope we will continue moving forward!
